GTS Engine mods/tuning
Well for me it was the manual transmission. If they offered a turbo in manual I'd probably have gone that route. My dream is to eventually own a 1000hp car. Hahaha. Probably not this one though.
Me too.
Also of note is the difficulty of adding significant HP to the GTS. Large gains most likely will be had only with the addition of forced induction. Without cracking the car's computer even that may not be worth the trouble or $$$

Hard to gain much more HP out of these with bolt ons, New BMC filter, cat back exhaust and or cat delete, and a tune. you might get 15-20hp with all 3 ( might ). If you want something you can tune and make big power get the Turbo.
+1. Not much power to be made from these babies unless you consider a cat delete and tune.

I currently have headers and 200-cell cats on my GTS. May do air filter etc in time but leaving cat-back as is because is loud enough! I'll probably put a tune on post-warranty if there's something suitable around. Plus I'd rather have a 450hp NA car than a 550hp turbo, but that's a matter of personal taste...

at the end of the day if you want gobs of power - I may suggest my old car... Jaguar XKR.
Prior to that car I really was after HP and massive torque. Now that this is out of my system, having a car that is an emotional driving experience is what I am after. Modding a 911 is about the experience that things like exhaust give. Everyone feels faster when an exhaust is blaring. A Tesla is fast... but feels numb, wring, witchcraft, etc without a loud exhaust note to supplement the acceleration.

I've modified most vehicles I've owned for years...but driving this GTS is different. I like it the way it is, may-be I am getting old.
I modified my Panamera Turbo looking for more exhaust note and overall emotion. Then I drove the latest 911 and was hooked on the emotion of the engine screaming and begging for more throttle. Its going to be hard to top this...well ok, I see a GT3 in my future. Who needs that back seat anyway.

You're not getting old, friend.

It's just that most Porsche enthusiasts who own 911s (non-Turbos, that is) tend to realize that this car is as close to perfection without resorting to modifications. That is, at least, my experience. I've always been a fan of modifying cars and the 991 911 has been a magical experience.
My GTS, being my second 991, makes it even more difficult to consider modifications or want more power. The only thing I'll consider is an exhaust system, but even without an aftermarket one, the car is dreamy.

Good luck cracking the computer codes on a modern Porsche, its locked down tighter than an Apple iPhone. And if you can't get into the DME, you're not going to make any more power.
