My overall experience is great - I'd like that car... But I wish Porsche had more attention to details.

For example - door panels (inside) - constant marks from fingers/elbow - have to clean it almost daily to maintain decent look - none of my other cars had/have similar problem (from cheapest nissan to relatively pricey bmw/lexus).
PCM - as it self (touch, speed) good - but again - it seems they rushed it - and it has annoying issues:
- don't remember last active screen (after call or after you start a car - always activates 'phone' screen) - annoying when you using navigation and after receiving/calling somebody it stays at phone - instead of returning to map;
- sometime unable to switch sirius channels via steering wheel controls (push on right rotary wheel) - sometime list is empty - or you unable to select any station.
- to use PCM software on phone they require that your phone to be connected through WIFI to the car (wtf? what's wrong with bluetooth???)
- data plan and sim card it seems only used to provide traffic information for navigation - no any other use. No pandora, spotify, etc... And only other way to "feed" car with data - is provide wifi hotspot via phone or dedicated modem (again - no bluetooth for some reason).
- sirius xm. I with they had internal app for spotify or pandora. Like other car do. sirius with their reception and music quality should go.

p.s. my car is 911.2 S Cab

I just purchased my 991.2 S and I feel the same. If you spend more for the steering wheel with controls, then how can you NOT have SKIP!

I found you can program the diamond to skip, but it will only skip in BT audio, or ipod.

If you are on radio, it wont skip presets. It will go up one station 102.7 goes to 102.8.

I dont know why, but that bugs the **** out of me.

I cant install the porsche app without seeing my dealer?

I cant see MPH limit on my speedo or upper dash (unless i dont know how, mine is on navigation screen only).

Mine is PDK and it appears "kick down" shifting was removed! If Im in 7th going 60 at 1.5K RPM, and hold the throttle down as far as it can go, and downshift, it should drop to the lowest gear it can to sling shot me forward. Like 7th to 3rd. Yet I have to click mine 4 times or use auto mode.

The having to need wifi to run the navi's good features is a JOKE.

Now, I will say this. Its good enough. But for a 130K car, I expected a more fluid integration in the technology side.

I do however love every single other thing about my car and would lick it if was socially acceptable.

Regarding WiFi instead of Bluetooth

WiFi can handle 10+ times more data throughput than Bluetooth
WiFi is more stable than Bluetooth
WiFi can handle 256 bit encryption, Bluetooth only 128 bit
WiFi is better suited for large file transfer; i.e., Using Pandora and Navi at the same time

For 911 it has same use as video monitors in boxster headrest... you can watch movies when open roof and staying behind the car ;-).

As for the rest - bluetooth 3.0/4.0 offers performance speed up to 24mbps - which is more than enough for any music streaming. And it doesnt drain battery as hell (like wifi hotspot does).

And anyway 911.2 doesn't do anything useful through using "internal data" - only traffic and online search - no pandora, spotify or any other music service

English is not your first language?

Your profile says that you are 42, but you write like a younger person. And by that, I mean you seem to be more concerned with the functionality of your phone and the technology in the car than the driving experience. Nothing wrong with that. I don't mean it as an insult, but that you have a different perspective that I do, and indeed, perhaps many Porsche owners.

But the 911 is two things - it is a sports car, and it's German. As a sports car, the primary focus is driving, not technology. And as a German product, the electronics are not the best, they don't make logical sense to anyone who is not German, and reliability is not their strong suit.

As for the "at this price" comment, well, Porsche are, always have been and will always be ridiculously overpriced. But nothing else performs like a Porsche.

Thanks God I don't have any problems with Porsche performance - except with stupid auto-stop feature (but for past few months I developed new habit - turn ignition on and push auto-stop button ).

As for the rest - I hope that sooner or later Porsche will fix some annoying bugs they have via software updates (and choose new door panels for future model years )

p.s. And yes - English is not my first language.
