Difference between base and S?

What do I get for 15K extra going from a base to an S model.
I'm looking into a 4S cabriolet and wondering what I'm getting for $15K

I see 50 HP difference and 37 ft lb of torque. That doesn't seem like I'm getting much for 15K. Sometimes they sneaky in other options though like the letter "S" and cooler rims? What else do I get?

Check out the Porsche website for all the details but you get 20" wheels standard, extra power, larger brakes and access to options not available on the base (rear wheel steering, -20mm SPASM, etc )

I believe the S has 0.4 liters of extra displacement as well (3.8 liter versus 3.4 liter) It may not seem like much, but that helps power over the whole rpm range, torque, turbo response etc.

You can always buy a Cobb Accessport for your Base model though and get that power for $1295 dollars instead of 15K hahaha

Don't forget the red calipers.

I don't really consider that a real difference - can be fixed with a can of red spray paint.

I've thought of that but will it hold up for long? Doesn't the factory powder coat them regardless of color?

Maybe, but lots of guys take theirs off and redcoat them in a different colour. I wouldn't, but some people do stuff like that and then change the model plate on the back of the car too. I think the OP just wanted to know what the differences in opts were between an S and non S. I think my above post covers it, plus the red callipers. In addition, the base car comes standard with 19's and the S models come standard with 20's

You can get calipers powder coated anywhere at many metal coating or refinishing shops.

Does anyone know if there's any difference in engine internal and auxiliary (turbo's) components?

I thought the engine was identical, and the circumference of the turbo was slightly larger.
The red calipers represent more brake cylinders.

I don't think disk brakes have brake cylinders. Drum brakes do though.

Turbos are different offering more boost than the base car. Engine tuning is adjusted.
