991 on ebay or go direct
Hi saw a Carrera from a 3rd party dealer on ebay. Does it make sense to just call and go direct or do ebaymotors? Was thinking pro's of direct are you can talk, schedule PPI, etc.
EBay benefits are maybe more buyer protection. The 3rd party dealer is one of the largest in Miami
Thanks

I was not clear on how to buy on Ebay when I saw the car I wanted. I called the seller and he told me if it did not get reserve at auction close in 2 days he would sell to me for reserve price privately allowing PPI, etc. I went that route. My seller was an indy Porsche shop that did mostly race stuff. They took the car in as a trade. Seller saved the Ebay commission.
Actually, that is NOT true. Not all of their cars have accident damage. They buy cars from auctions and other dealer trade in units that the dealer does not want for any number of reasons. OLO gives you a car fax on any car - even if just looking around - and if there is any known accident history, they disclose that in the description.
In full disclosure - I have not bought a car from them but I do know several that have. The ones that have purchased from them have been fine with the decision and many have said they would go back there and buy again. The one thing they all have commented about is that the cars can be dirty and look like a rental that was just brought back. OLO does not do much apparently in the area of detailing and such !! I think it is just a high volume, low overhead business model.
Anyway, I don't really care - bash OLO all you want. I just wanted to clarify/correct that all of their cars are not wrecks.

To a degree, I agree. Things are done for a reason but there are many factors a dealer considers when facing a keep the trade or wholesale it decision. And yes, there may be a problem with the car that they do not want to be connected with and pass it off. I do not deny that possibility. But, they may also decide not to keep it if they already have one or more units of the same/similar configuration. Or maybe they are in the trade at a great number, and if they don't retail it within 30, 60 days, they sell it and make some money on the wholesale side. And, dealers still hit curtailments on floorplans occasionally and will sell units from their inventory that they would otherwise like to retain. Things happen and sometimes you can't find the *** for that seat when you need to!!
That and the fact that the best cars or even a car that I would buy would be at off lease..I have looked at several of their vehicles and they look like crap.
On yelp, they have 101 reviews and 3 of 5 stars. It seems like there are a lot of 1's and 5s which means they have faked reviews to offset the real ones. Read the real ones.
