Porsche Dash Camera

I have two Porsche dash cameras on order for my new cars and wanted to know if anybody on here has them and if they liked them. Mine would just be for safety and to document an accident. Did any of you add it to the car after you bought it verses having it already in the car when you bought it. What do you like and dislike about the system?

Thanks

Got the camera, dealer wanted $1200 to install. Went to a specialized place that my sales guy recommended and what a snobby bunch. Would not install unless I bought a 6k radar/laser system from them. They took me in the back and they sure did a very nice job of installing the stuff, it was well integrated and I guess would protect you from being pulled over. But I really did not need the system as I am a retired cop and have not got a ticket since I was in college. I put in the model number of the camera and it does not look that daunting if you just go slow and follow the three pages of instructions. I think I will just have the dealer do the install so it is warrantied for as long as the car.

Mine is scheduled to be installed next week. I’ll report back shortly. The install is installed from my understanding. Have to pull back the headliner. I wouldn’t trust anyone doing that except the dealer. My dealer quoted me $962 for labor. Plus the cost of the Porsche factory camera.

Thanks for the response, my advisor was a couple of hundred higher, $1120 on my 992 and $1232 on my Taycan. Looking forward to your review, I was going to start with my 992 and see if I like it before doing the Taycan.

I have it spec'd on my S/T. My sales mgr says to get it installed by their workshop for warranty coverage purposes. I do have dash cams on all my vehicles but this is first time Porsche cam.

It's great that you're looking into Porsche dash cameras for safety and accident documentation. I see you're interested in hearing about others' experiences with them. Hopefully, someone here can share their feedback on adding the cameras after purchase versus having them already installed.
