Anybody have the Dash Camera installed
I have two Porsche dash cameras on order for my new cars and wanted to know if anybody on here has them and if they liked them. Mine would just be for safety and to document an accident. Did any of you add it to the car after you bought it verses having it already in the car when you bought it. What do you like and dislike about the system?
Thanks

Got the camera, dealer wanted $1200 to install. Went to a specialized place that my sales guy recommended and what a snobby bunch. Would not install unless I bought a 6k radar/laser system from them. They took me in the back and they sure did a very nice job of installing the stuff, it was well integrated, and I guess would protect you from being pulled over. But I really did not need the system as I am a retired cop and have not got a ticket since I was in college. I put in the model number of the camera and it does not look that daunting if you just go slow and follow the three pages of instructions. I think I will just have the dealer do the install so it is warrantied for as long as the car.

Had the Dashcam installed on my 992 and found out without a wifi hotspot you cannot use the dashcam. I guess the good part is that you can always just pull the card out and watch what you need on your computer.

I installed a Blackvue DR900X-2CH in my Taycan. Took a couple of hours. Pretty easy.
Blackvue in Taycan
Can just barely see the Blackvue behind the tint strip.
Rear Camera almost hidden from view inside and out.

The update makes the Taycan PCM much more useable and quicker. Few items need some minor programming for usability (takes 4 screen touches to get back to the radio list from Carplay. Could do it in 1 or 2 max.
Post pics of dash cam install.

Looking forward to the two updates and will post some photos of the camera, the only problem with the camera is you need to have a hotspot to use and view the video. I don't really care about the hotspot internet stuff but put it in just in case I get a ticket, or I am involved in a traffic accident. I have a PDR in my Corvette and love it, never have watched the video in my C8 or in past C7 Corvette's I have had.

My Blackvue has an SD card, but it connect to my home and office WiFi when in range. You can also have it upload to the cloud too.
Just last night, some one was coming at us head on and went off road through a lawn and then across both lanes ( I drove up on the sidewalk to get away as I thought for sure he was going to hit us head-on). I got home and pulled the video up on my phone (you can do it in the car too via the camera built in wifi).
