1996 993 turbo smoking problem

A friend of mine is suffering from excessive engine smoke when starting the car after a stop period of two days, it stops smoking after around 3 minutes after starting, he has an exhaust system don't know which brand, fvd turbos, fvd tune, 5 bar fpr, fvd diverter valves, bmc filter, please share your opinions, what could be the cause of this, no one knew the cause of this neither fvd or the dealership, please help.

Did your friend have a recent oil change? It sounds like somehow they are getting oil in their turbos and it takes 3 minutes to blow it out?

Not recently no, but the turbo oil lines has been replaced recently thinking that it was the cause, the engine has been lowered in a recent ocassion in order to find out the problem but no use. And yes it does smoke that bad (2 to 3 minutes) if its parked more than one day, heavy smoke.

I doubt it's the turbos. Have him change the oil and not tighten the filters to much. I installed 996 check valves to eliminate the worries.

Could it be that a ring let loose?. If I dont drive my Porsches for months it will do that too, but for a short period of time, that seems awfully odd.

I had a similar problem on my 993TT 3 years ago
My car had very low oil consumption before and it did not even release a puff of smoke after 3 weeks of standstill.
then suddenly it developed this problem. Every day i started it, huge amounts of blueish smoke came out of the exhausts and this continued for at least 10 minutes after driving off.
The longer it had stood stil, the worse the smoke was and the longer it persisted
After a lot of searching and calling around with colleages, my mechanic was given a solution by one of them.
He installed the valves in the upper oil lines of the turbos, similar to those that are standard in the 996 turbos.
After 2 years and 5000 miles, the car had not realeased a single puf of smoke again, not even after hard driving or longer periods of standstill.
Hope this helps
