I have an Alpine 9847 with iPod interface and the hook up is currently laying on the floor. Ok when cruising but I start hitting turns and it is sliding all over. I need to get some type of Ipod holder.

Leave the factory cassette in the dash and buy a Monster iPod adapter. iPod goes in ashtray. Done.

Who makes the best mounts? Just did a quick search today and didn't see anything that impressed me.

If you use an an aftermarket head unit you don't need a mount. Just run the ipod cable into the glove box. You can control the ipod directly from the radio. You won't need to see the ipod again.

I have this setup in my Supra using an Alpine. It works great.

+1 The best way to go. You can always go back to the original head unit. Most aftermarket head units need very little in getting them to fit into the current slot. I just bought a 993 with a Kenwood head unit with IPod hook up. The connection is in the glove. Best place for it. When I had my Mercedes the IPod hook was in the glove.

I went with an Alpine head unite (9846 I think) with Ipod interface. Ran the cable to the glove box. Works great!

Is there no factory radio solution? I have the in dash CD, & I like the stock system. Does DICE, or any of the other companies make a cable that plugs into the CDC controls?
