Hard hitting 300km?

Hello,

Im pretty new to this board, read it for a long time but rarley posted something ,

Anyways i have a Euro 996tt -02 Man.
Was taking it to a local airstrip to test the maxspd.

The strip is about 2.8km long. and i was only able to hit around 280km (before i had to brake with about 400m left) It felt like the car hit a wall or something at 270km, after that it was about 1km in every 2 seconds. Boost pressure was about 0.3,0.4 bar??

Anyone have any toughts about this, is the 996tt not faster or is it my car with some faults maybe?

Thanks
David

Boost pressure should be 0.7 - 0.9 bar, either you need to change your MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) or maybe you have a boost leak.

I did the same a month ago in my 996 GT2. I hit 298,1 km/h on gps (speedo showed 310+). I guess the airstrip was ~3 km long, and we used about 2.3-2.4. Was still climbing, but slowly. Don't know what boost the car showed while travelling, but my car shows normally 0.8 (stock)

If you've run some really crap fuel prior to the event the ecu can adopt this to its ignition curves and retard the ign ALOT 10+ degrees, it will take time to adopt this out again.I suggest you try to take the ground wire of your battery over night and then refit it next day, then go and test a pull from 2000 rpm in 3.gear and read the boost, you should not see less than 0,7 bar unless you've got an enormous boost leak, blown MAF or faulty turbo(s)..

Good luck,
