ECU Flash
ECU Flash
Hello All,
Help, I can't find the thread, I believe I read about an ECU Flash that was custom made for your car by some software guys in Germany. The ECU was flashed or flashed back to OEM whenever the user chooses. Does anyone recall this vendors name? I think you gave them a list of mods and the fuel you paln to use and they took it from there...

Other companies can offer similar personalization as well.
Yeah, FVD is the one you are talking about. Check them out at www.fvd.de. Their flash works by them sending you some software and a cable that you install on your laptop and plug the cable into your car. They scan the car, and then email you two files, the stock file and a modified file. Then you just flash the car using the same laptop and cable. It is very easy, and you can flash it with the stock file if you want to take the car to the shop or something, then flash it back when you get it back.
running a special on programming and exhausts this month (Nov)- buy the exhaust and get the program for free- the flyer was posted in this forum but cant find the link to the thread- it's on their website

Keith, with my tuning system. You retain your factory original stock program. You don't need a laptop or cable to reload your files. My system can load and retain up to 8 different files. To switch between files it takes 15 seconds to load.
One can retain there stock file, and run a performance file, valet file, and/or 100 octane file and switch between each within 15 seconds.

I checked out Kevin's website at www.ultimatemotorwerks.com, but there was no real information there. There were just lists of packages, but no prices or details. That seems to be typical of all of the tuners websites, though. At least FVD's site has prices, but not really detailed information. I bet if one of these tuners really spent some money on developing a very user friendly website with online ordering, their business would shoot through the roof.
you UMW guys are sneaky
just asking and not looking to start a tuner war- but I dont know much about your programming. Is it GIAC or proprietary? If its proprietary who ultimately does the programming for it and is it done inhouse or are the files sent out or overseas to a 3rd party-can it be done at home or an outside shop or do you physically need the ecu?

It is a free flash with the purchase of an exhaust, not the other way around. That would be an awesome deal though to get an exhaust and flash for only $1,500!!!
