$6K budget Modifications

Ok, so I am new here and I am sure this has been done a million times and a search would probably answer all my questions (i have actually found some really great stuff!!) but, I think these are fun.

So, you have a 2002 996TT and an additional budget of 6k for mods, what do you do?

The rules:
1) Answer cannot be more driver's training
2) Must be related to cars, not hookers.

Enjoy

You can do a "flash" and an exhaust, that's what your budget allows. Being in Seattle I would recommend Kevin at UMW

Thanks!

Not so much concerned with what I would. However, if i were to post...

GT3 seats
harness and bits
Helmet to match the car color. (you can't just have one helmet, can you?)
Battery replacement
2WD conversion
Remove rear seats
Then if I could squeek enough out of this limited budget I'd buy a set of GT2 wheels and slick rubber to wrap them in.

Then again, I'm a Lotus guy at heart so I am biased toward the "add lightness" side of things.

If you go used your money will go a lot further IE what I did

H&R coilover $1200
Fabspeed - Now can be found for around $1000
Flash - $700 (I would recommend going with another tuner for 2-3K though)
Diverters - $300
SSK - $200

Thats a pretty fun car for under 6K...

Depends on what you want out of the car, but for general use one might suggest the following:

Suspension upgrade: $3k-$4k installed (maybe something like PSS9 w/H&R Sways, but depends on how you will use the car)
Flash & DVs
Exhaust would be nice as well - look for something used

If you plan to track or do 1/4 mile runs - the recommendation could be different

Contact a local P-Car tuner and see what they have to offer to fit your needs. You have a good one up in your vicinity.

What exactly are you looking to get? More power, less weight, better handling?

Speaking of helmets.
www.helmet-painting.com - I just love his masterpieces!

PS. I don't have any affiliation with the site. Just wanted to share.

Easy question. Ecu flash(giac) and exhaust. There goes your $6K and here comes 85hp.

Well, to fit my needs, the car is fine stock. I have a track car, but of course that car fits an entirely different part of my driving life. Maybe your right. since this car woul dbe a different part of my life, rainy day track and freeway screamer, maybe I'd want even more power? As for the RUF kits, it's amazing the prices they have sometimes, much lower than I thought they'd be. Nothing of interest over there the last few weeks though.
