I love the look of those wheels on that car. The slight contrast is both tasteful and an elegant touch to a performance car. Nice job!

This is a press release from PCNA:

Add 2004 and 2005 sales and you get 227 S coupes and 643 S cabs.

The 996 Turbo S was produced in 2005 only (cab and coupe). Unless someone can verify that there Turbo S have a manufacturing date of 2004, I believe these number are incorrect. See the chart below that depicts a “Prior Year” column for “Year to date”. They should be zero. I applaud you for coming up with this data/chart. Keep up the great work and happy data hunting.

Model Month to Date Year to Date
Current Year Prior Year Current Year Prior Year

911 Turbo S Coupe 1 31 169 58
911 Turbo S Cabriolet 2 56 531 112
GT2 Coupe 0 0 5 24

The Turbo S was released in mid to late 2004. The 170 total Turbo S that the site refers to were sold in 2004 as a 2005 Turbo S. If you don't think these numbers are right, feel free to ask your local Porsche dealership. The numbers may actually be low as I'm sure some Turbo S were also sold in 2006 but the auto channel didn't show sales for the S past December 2005. My guess is about 900 Turbo S sold in North America. Hope this helps. It's a rare car but not GT2 rare. I believe they sold 5 2005 GT2 in NA...wow

Does any of the Turbo S P-car on this board have a 2004 production date? You can verify by checking the driverside door sill info plate.

This is what I found from the Porsche website:

http://www.porsche.com/usa/aboutpors...5-ff8a33261e00

I think the suspension is the same unless the car was ordered with the upgraded suspension from Porsche. This also explains the reason the turbo S has sales in 2004.

The Turbo S has a maximum track-speed of 190 mph (307 km/h) and accelerates from a standing start to 124 mph (200 km/h) in just 13.6 seconds, 0.8 seconds quicker than the 911 Turbo.

Thanks for the link. Looks to me like the same soft stock suspension on S and non S, which definitely needs an upgrade IMHO.

My Turbo SC is the end of November 2004. With specification MY05. It was the first Turbo S Cabrio who arrived in Spain.
The Turbo S began to be manufactured in late September 2004.
