Exclamation Help from high octane users & fuel pump problems

Hi fellow 6speedians...I was out yesterday (actually to fill the tank for some extended garage time), filled my tank and on the way home...fuel line ruptured...again. I am now on my 4th fuel pump.

So my question/poll to all users of high octane gas (I use VP100)...anybody had any fuel pump issues?

Also to those with fuel pump issues...what octane and type of gas are you using?

Thanks much brothers!

Update: I spoke with the technical director at VP fuels... he said the VP100 (what I am running) has the same oxygenators as pump gas. He did indicate that, especially for cars that sit, the ethanol in the fuels will corrode European fuel lines over time. He suggested getting an American made hose or using a non-oxygenated fuel (C10 for example).

i just replaced my fuel pump after 25k miles. it wasn't the stock one though - whatever comes w/ GT700. the fuel pressure was slowly falling over time.

i used 100 octane (not sure of brand, will get that for you later) 90% of the time. car has become a weekend car this past year.

Gt700 does not come with a upgraded fuel pump.

I recieved a new fuel pump with the GT 700 kit.......bought directly from EVO.

If the fuel is unleaded it shouldn't be a problem for the pump.

The problem is not actually the pump...it is the hose...the hose is splitting as a result of it deteriorating from something...I don't think it is ethanol as that is everywhere...any other thoughts?

Looks like evo traded parts on the kit coz I got the badge (after waiting 5 months) and the mats.

Doesnt matter either way the badge, mats, and gt3 seat inserts with the gt700 logo have to go Anyone want to buy this stuff? I have the gt3 seat inserts in black w/ white lettering and red w/ black lettering. The black one have never been used.

I recall Todd Z himself satting that the stock pump can handle 700 hp.. that is why they do not change it. It was on a thread that somoeone brought up Protos dual 044 pumps in series... and I recall Todd Z responding that it's not required.
But then they both probably run different pressure... I think todd K runs a 4.2 bar FPR ....

Hey, sorry to hear you're having fuel line problems.
I've been running VP MS109, and have not had any problems (knock on wood).

Thats correct. I remember reading the post from Todd Z stating the OEM TT and the GT2 pumps flow about the same amount. I kept my factory pump up from and just added the rear. Todd K uses the OEM 4.0 FPR. I had to remove my 5 bar when I went with the 700 upgrade.

Honestly there this sounds like bad luck or kind of installation problem if you're really no your 4th pump. I've never heard of such an issue and I've put about 30k miles on my audi with blended E85. Which line is rupturing exactly?
