Not start the bench racing session.
But thats an AWEFULLY bold statement considering the company one finds himself when posting on this board.
This is a obviously a topic that will most likely go on for pages yet never ultimatley get resolved.
While Steve may be very fast in his Ruf CTRTurbo .. I am willing to go out on a limb and say that there are plenty of drivers that equal his time if not trump it in equal the car.
Any driver who has done any kind of competitive driving knows that there is always someone faster.
(Not to say that Steve isnt a nice and a fast guy. I personally admire his collection of Sport Quattro's)
Let's refrain from the "is faster than anyone" statements and stick to the topic at hand - Just posting lap times.
Otherwise that might start a whole new topic/event of a 6speed track shoot out
Which will require to bring there cars and there talent
(Yup I am instigating the ground work for an event like this
LOLOL)

Great thread, I wish I had some times to compare..
What would be great to see posted is what lap times do professional drivers have in say 997RSRs or 997 Cup cars during qualifying or race sessions for each of these tracks as the benchmark. This would make it more visible to others as to what "fast" and "really fast" is on those tracks for the amateurs ( in the real "unpaid" sense of the term).
For example I know how much slower I am in my street car vs. some of the Supercup drivers in competition, and also against myself driving a Cup car etc..
Don't know if it makes any sense.

I dont mind that suggestion, the plan was to have a street car and a race car time sheets so to speak.
But in opposition I dont mind adding a fast RSR or Record Cup car lap for comparison, but RSR times are generally going to be 10-25 seconds faster than even the fast guys in street cars (in fact inside of 10 seconds is blazing fast compared to a RSR on full slicks)
I just dont want a bunch of people posting all kinds of race car times in the street car time list.
I suggest one World Challenge/PCA 997 Cup Records per track for comparison. Majority vote rules though because we'll never have cup cars at all the tracks, same level drivers etc, so it will still be blurry.
HeavyCheavy, makes sense. My own experience in our reasonable fast tracks is that the same experienced driver is about 8-10 seconds faster in a well setup 997 Cup car with slicks vs. a well prepped MPSC street car. 997RSRs are about 4-6 seconds faster than 997 Cup cars with the same driver on board.
So far from the vids i'm reviewing from yesterdays event at laguna seca. My best so far is 1:42:XX...i'll post the vid after i find the fastet. Not bad, considering a 997tt with a pro driver can manage 1:39:7..
TracK: Laguna Seca
Car: 996tt
Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport
Time: 1:42 (tentative)
perf mods: upsolute ecu/dv/k&n/pagid orange pads

I hope to beat these with the GT3, but here are some times in my street legal '97 Audi A4 (1.8T) on R Compounds:
Cal Speedway Roval
1:57.50
Willlow Springs
1:37.712
I'll post up some times in the GT3 when I get it out to the track.
