Angry electrical problems

After buying my 02 turbo with a complex sound system, I have had some problems with the battery/electrical system. In my front trunk, the neon lights and amps always draw some power from the battery even when the car is off. The origonal owner just used a built in battery charger to keep the battery working, but my dealer also installed a cutt-off switch on the battery. This is essentially like disconecting the battery so the amps or neon lights in the trunk do not draw power. From another thread, I understand the windows must be reset? Also, I heard something about a 4-digit code that must be entered but have never used it and car seems to be running fine. Are there any problems with this setup or things I should watch out for? Is this safe? Any help is appreciated. Dan.
