I was not insinuating anything... we all are BOOST sensitive and found it really strange... but Jegs just cleared that one up.
BTW, we don't know if it's a HG yet...
Either way... I think his problem could have been prevented with a $300 greddy EBC that has a boost limit and even a loud warning feature...

I then took my nephew with me for a few runs and he told me that it spikes were in between shifts. We then took the boost reading post TB and problem solved

Raudel - Im sorry that you blew the HG. Oh well now you can build a sweet motor, but that another journey within itself!

Jag- Thanks, I wasn't looking forward to doing this, but at this point I have no choice. Now I guess the question is do I go bigger or stay the same.

Mark, I agree! If I would've had the Greddy with the alarm and afr gauge I probably would've had a better chance at saving it. But like you said I was blind to what was going on. I'm definitely getting the new EBC and afr gauge installed with the new build.

Thanks
Raudel

Very informative posts. Raudel, I think you're the dude I've spoken to a few times at Edgewater. I'm sorry to hear that about your car but it'll be back and better than ever.

Looks like theres going to be some serious hp cars running the tri-state area in '08. I still have a little bit of time to make up my mind on whether I want a P-car or just sell out and go for the cheap good old Z06. I'd like to say that you probably don't need anymore power than 700 for the streets but everyone whos ever gotten used to high hp cars always desires more.

Here is my 2 cents. Don't EVER go above 600 hp without internals. I preach this constantly, people don't listen and people blow up motors. Next get a 5 Bar and boost controller this has transformed my car into an animal. Where I was at 640 rwhp I have to be at 670 to 680 rwhp now.

Secondly for me to go to the next level which would only gain me 100 hp costs like $20,000.00 so forget it. My car spools very quickly and can whip anything short of a 1200 hp Viper or Supra, be faster than anything but straight out race cars at the track and still get 23 mpg on the highway out of the boost.

Thirdly I am going to regear the car and then it will be even better!

Hi Bobby, I do hang out at Edgewater so it probably is me. You know its funny cuz I never thought I would want more than 700, but the hp bug keeps biting me for more.

Buddy- I have an EBC and a rising rate fpr. Hey by the way I'm the guy who gave you a ride to your hotel when you went to pick up your car at PES in PA. when you had the 750 kit done and you had to go back home w/out your car.

From others I have spoken to: Once you go above 700HP, the law of diminishing returns starts to kick in.

That goes for money, reliabilty, and HP.
