Sorry to ask, as I'm sure this has been covered, but I couldn't find the thread.

Can anyone direct me to, or provide info about converting 4wd to 2wd.

What is involved in taking a 996tt and converting it to 2wd? How is PASM affected. Do you need a new computer? Any issues to look out for? Would this be the same for a C4S?

you sure you wouldnt be happier with a GT3??? or GT2??

plenty of people on here have done the conversion with mixed reviews.
try the search engine or scan some previous threads there are several dedicated to the entire details of the RWD conversion.

but remember this car (TT) will feel like a boat compared to your last car!!!

I am the OP on the big thread about doing the RWD conversion. After having driven the car for about a year since doing the conversion I would do it again in a heart beat. The PSM and ABS work just fine and the car feels more nimble and doesn't have as much oversteer. It's a fairly quick conversion and you can go back to AWD easily.

You mean understeer right?

Car has more oversteer, power oversteer that is.

 

FIXED! Good catch...

It's probably a good idea to also do a corner balance if you do the RWD conversion (I'll be doing it once I remove the spare tire, get a lighter battery, and remove the rear seats).
