Factory Radio stopped working (no sound)????
Just turned my car on and the factory radio has no sound. The radio itself works but there is no sound. Any tips on getting some sound as it has worked just fine before. BTW it is a 03 Turbo.
If i disconnect the battery will that reset any fault codes stored in the computer relating to the radio?
Is there an antitheft code on Porsches to restart the radio once I disconnect the battery? I don't have a card for the radio or the number so I wasn't sure if Porsche had this feature???
Thanks for the help!!!!

cool, now you have a reason to remove all your speakers and toss out your system.
I have a security code on a card that was issued with in my owners manual. located in the leather breif. or atleast I thought I did the last time I looked. it's been awhile.

Is a Bose System? I don't think there is a fault code that would keep the system from operating. If you disconnect the battery, yes the radio will need the security code to get it to work. Check on ebay for a radio with a card, it will be much cheaper than the dealer. I like the factory radio, but a lot of people don't because they perfer there music a little louder or higher quality than the factory radio will produce. I think your car has an audio amplifier. Have you checked the amplifier? Maybe it has a disconnected power cable...

Fuse
I had the same problem when I got my car and the dealer couldn't figure it out (lame!). It was just the fuse... There are two fuse slots... One for the radio (Row: D #8) and one for the sound package (Row: D #9).. On mine the sound package fuse was blown.. Good luck!
Your car has the MOST system in it. You can try and disconnect the battery and reconnect it. The newer Porsche's also use the CAN lines and have to be reset if work was done to them or a glitch. Do the stations all show and it looks as normal? If so and the battery disconnect does not work then the amp is most likely bad or became UN-installed in the system via software.

same thing happened to me. very strange. this would happen when i was fully stock, for no apparent reason. no sound from speakers but radio appears to be on. then car would be parked for a few hours and everything would be perfectly fine, back to normal. this issue would happend maybe once a month...
maybe something with the fiber optic connection?
