Well during the 24hr race Alzen managed to do something like 6.40 the Nordschleife part...that's so crazy, can't compare to Bellof's time because his car was from another planet...But Alzen showed people that if you're one of the best drivers on the Ring ever with "only a slightly tuned 996TT" then simply no one is faster
Just thought I should clarify, the 6:40s is correct but it was done during a flying lap trying to beat the record, not during the 24 hours. During the 24 hours, he did have 7:30s as an average for a while, to put things into perspective to some, this is the fastest Walter Rohl was able to drive the CGT on the 'Ring.
Alzen's car had more than $500,000 of modifications, I believe the 4WD and traction control system alone were about 100k USD. Specially dedicated Bosch race engineers, KKK motorsports division engineers and RS Tuning among many others, spent months working on the car. I posted an article about the car a while back on this forum, I don't have it handy.

Yikes, that car is fast, 2:11 at Sebring is major fast. I'm gonna try and get to that 1:28 here in the next year or so. Anyone know if these times were done in PCA races? I want to know what kind of tire (looks like R6's)
