boost problem

Hello everybody,
I have a 996 x 50 from 2003 and have 29000km and I ' m a normal driver.
When i drove my car earlier i always had 0.8 bar of pressure and the last two weeks i have 0.6 bar at wot and the car feels a bit slower after 4500 rpm. I have had a local mechanic looking at it and he said that the turbo 's couldn't hold the pressure. There is a little leak. Is this possible. He said that the diverter valve was ok. I still have the cpo extended warranty and have tomorrow an appointment with the cpo. And if the turbos are broken do the cpo cover it. MY car is fully standard and everything is original. Never did a racetrack to and I only drive the weekends and after a spiritid drive I let the turbo' s cool down for 1- 2 minutes. Greetings from belgium and excuses for the errors in the spelling.

Symptoms sound a lot like a boost leak. Last time I had a similar problem, (on a VW turbo), you could clearly hear the leak a different tone from the engine. Does it sound any different?

Boost leak or limp mode but I doubt it.

I had the same symptoms...found a leak in the Diverter Valve....back to running at .9 to 1.0. Check for a leak like most of the suggestions tell you.

Could have a leaky diverter valve. Even if you get no mods, they are cheap insurance. Try a set of billet units.

thanks for replying, today I went to pick up my car at the local mechanic and he said that he had done a minor thing to the bypass valve in the turbo and now I have 0.8 and 0.9 bar again. I went immediately after to the cpo (100 km trip ) and the car was going good. The cpo did a litlle check up and they couldn't find anything. What should I do . Any suggestions are welcome.

If you're running .8 and .9, that's the sign of a healthy car. What you should do is drive it. Don't count on your CPO to cover everything. I was surprised to find out how many things are NOT covered. Major items such as your turbos and drive train would be covered unless you've done some mod they can point to as the potential cause of the failure.
