Sequential Gear Shifter System
For info have decided not to go with this add on, not because the concept is necessarily faulty, but because of the power of the internet and thanks to a few guys that pointed out some other threads about Oakley to me. Thumbs up to you guys and thanks very much....
Bud, thanks very much... was made aware by a couple of other good folks on another forum a while earlier and have deduced the same...

Looks interesting IMO. Did a quick Google on Oakley design and found nothing untoward. As I'm the curious sort could someone maybe PM me a link or two about what's going on there?
Funny, first 911 engine I ever saw was on a stand - windowed. When I asked I was told it was used on a Bonneville test car with a prototype electronic shifter... that missed a gear! The guy told me the driver said "the noise just went away" when he hit the upshift! Turbo Perofrmance Center Mike Levitas... - grrrr..... but neat toys to look at anyway!

As far as Excellence article goes and the principle behind it-- these days the lifeblood for magazines ( & internet forums!) is advertising support so a lot of what looks like independent verification is no more than spruiking in the form of advertorial in conjuction with paid advertising.
It is where the forums are so much use--it is a lot easier to find these issues and publicise them.

Surely not this car? -> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2007-PORSCHE-9...d=p3286.c0.m14

Glad I saw this thread as I were really contemplating this product from Oakley.... Seems like more and more crooks are surfacing daily, hardly anyone are legit now a days it seems :/
