Cat delete on Turbo...Pros and cons

Hello,

I have a Boxster with a twin turbo conversion and was wondering if you Turbo guys can fill me in on the pros and cons of deleting the cats on a turboed motor?

My assumption is there will be a cel issue. When this cel is tripped will the car enter a "limp" mode?

Any real world experience as far as sound difference?
Would the turbos spool faster?
Performance gains?
Has anyone doe this mod and reversed it? Put the cats back on??

Thanks in advance,
Gary

no cat CEL will not put your car into limp.
sounds alot deeper, and it will backfire. (flames)
i'm planning to put cats back on....

Limp mode and cel depends on ur ecu tuner.... who wrote the program?
If ur running 100 cel cats then dont even bother.... u will not gain anything noticeable other then it being louder.

FVD makes this, and it's on sale, old trick should work pretty good.

Or get a tool that resets the CEL, brokway engineering makes one.Strait pipe from the Turbo helps IMO, but others say it doesnt.

Do all the cat less turbos backfire flames or is because your car is pushing out so much horsepower?

And how bad are the flames. AM i going to catch the Vespa behind me on fire?

I've been runnng catless for about 2k miles. I have no cats and no mufflers. I also have the same thing DERBOOST posted except made by Fabspeed. It did not work for me so my check engine light is just on. No limp mode, the car runs great. Except my bumper is torched from the flames. LOL

No, i just saw them, I put my 100 cell gen 1 loud back on, I got used to that bearing noise and now that it's quiet the exhaust is not so bad....

They worked on a BMW M3 and a friends honda. I may try them at some point. Is there any way to put a resistor inline to "fool" the 2nd O2 sensor??

No, they are too sensitive from my experience- Even the extra wire from simply extending them can throw the C.E.L. if not done properly.
