CEL came on....

I came out of the coffee shop, started up the TT and the damn check engine light came on. I had my 15k service last October, but I did have the Fabspeed put on this winter. Any ideas?

Could be any number of things... Can you hook up an OBDII scanner and let us know the code fault numbers?

Could be your 02 sensor is a bit loose (that'll trigger it) but then again it coule be anything...

so what's the best thing to do? Just go by the dealer and get it checked?

FAT-911 is infamous around these parts
Maxwell,

There are two things that could have happened, One is your new exhaust would be flowing more than stock which would trip the O2 sensor, keep driving it, it will eventually reprogram itself.

The other problem could be a fault logged in the OBD, if it is logged your car will go into limp home mode, meaning you would have half power, if this is the case disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes and it will clear, if it comes on again take it back to Porsche and they will find out what's causing it.

Good Luck.

thanks guys. It still ran fine. It just had the little light on. I've had the exhaust for 6 months, so I don't think that would cause a problem now would it?

It's not likely that your exhaust system has caused the mil light to activate. Especially if it is just a cat back. Even if you have high flow sport cats those don't usually cause a problem. If the car runs well it is probably an emmisions related issue. Vaccume leaks are common, causing fuel trim codes. Oxy sensors can go bad, secondary air injection if you get a p410, 411, fuel tank venting system (not super common but have had to do evap purge valves before. Get a code/codes and let us know. Seth.
