996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

Any internal differences between 996TT and 997TT engines?

I can confirm the heads are different also. The combustion chambers are different and so is the port design. The cams are also different. Although not part of the engine the intake manifold is different.

I have now seen a stock 997tt equipt'ed with Garrett turbo's pulling 700 hp on the dyno @ 19 inches boost. The dyno operater shut it down at 700 hp because it had stock internals and was afraid of pushing it any further.

I asked Todd K what the differences are and he stated the cams, intake, and fuel injectors were major factors in the HP difference. The 997T motor is very impressive! It puts out 60-75 more hp than a similarly modded 996T motor. Very efficient motor!

Has anyone seen the 997 GT2 intake manifold? I am wondering if it will fit on a 996TT motor?
