A VERY custom 996 GT2 "RSR"...
It will be shown. I am also trying to get it featured in EXCELLENCE Magazine. Does anyone know Pete Stout, the editor?
Mirrors will stay. The front still receives a 3 and 1/2 inch splitter attachment that is not on the car yet. The car will be delivered to 911 Design (Loren Beggs) in Montclair,CA on Monday. He will do final assembly, tuning, and set-up over the next four weeks. I will see if he can post a YouTube video of the car on the dyno. That would be very cool for everyone to see.
We had to put the new intercooler inside the car at the rear as it is so big that there was no where else to install it. Obviously, we had to build a plenum to get air to the cooler and the roof scoop was the only way to bring in the air. Reminds me of the old GT1 design. The car looks MUCH better in person. the pictures do not do it justice. Remember, this car is 82 inches wide in the rear!!!!! The whole car is massive from a dimensional standpoint.
engine and transmission go in tomorrow and we are hoping to dyno the car week after next. Cross your fingers!! Suppose to get 890 to 910 rwhp at 1.1 bar boost. Engine is designed to red line at 8700rpm. Optimum range should be 3500 to 8100 rpm.
Everyone else here is having to go 2bar to get the same numbers. Details on engine build please.Jag
I have met Pete Stout and Dave Colman. Dave has since left Excellence. They did an article on my car I believe in April 2004. Pete is very hard to get in touch with.
We are a week away from completion. Here are a couple of cool interior dash pics showing the MoTec digital dash, the rear view mirror camera setup, and the custom carbon fiber panel for the various custom switches.
i will get you a few with the car on the rack. The tires and wheels might be off.
But, I will get a few as it sits today.
