Front Bumperettes

Still looking for a turbo with low miles. Was wondering if the front bumperettes are removable? Found a few online, but of course they have them. Thanks everyone for your help.

Also if anyone is selling their car for around the 90k mark, please let me know.

The only Turbos to have the front bumperettes are the early production 01s, most of the 01s do not have them.

To answer your question, no they cannot be removed... You need a whole new front bumper....

From Bumper Plug Global Headquarters:

We disassembled an early Turbo at the owner's request (front end only) to see what these were all about (he got one of the first 50 in the US).

The warts are hockey pucks with tabs, and they insert through slots in the bumper cover, and have one or two screws to boot.

When taken off (yes they can be taken off carefully) you are left with about 6 slits in each side of the bumper cover. You can opt to have them filled/sanded/painted, or better, as Evan suggests, get a euro/gt3/other bumper cover and simply paint and replace.

Thanks

Thanks for everyone who responded. Now I know to look for a car without them on.

Listen Evan dont be a wiseguy, he was told they were on the first year cars which isnt true, they were only on the early production 01s, so I was clarifying that for him as it might help him with his search when he sees an 01 advertised it wont hinder him from looking further.

I don't think I would mess with a guy with 3136 posts Besides, I love when people know their onions and add little facts.

Hey M3CAB, spend 27 more and get a NO MILES TT in red with painted front grills and Ferrari tan interior with yellow calipers (not PCCB) at Paramount Porsche in Hickory NC. Check out their web site and make them an offer. It has been inside the showroom ever since it arrived.
