encounter with f430
Rolling start in second gear from about 20mph to low 100's- i pulled him slightly (about 1 to 2 car lengths max). From the sound of things he had an aftermarket exhaust. My car has a giac ecu, diverter valves, and speedtech exhaust. I thought i might pull him a little more with my mods, but i guess an f430 is pretty quick. What do you think about the performance of my car for a stage 2?

jb,
I think you did well for a stage II...Like joyride said, the F430 is a pretty quick car. As a reference, on a good 1/4 mile pass, they will run about 11.7 @ 120-123MPH...and on an average pass about 12.0 -12.3 @ 116-119 MPH. Did he have the F1 transmission or fully manual? I test drove an F1 version when my car was a stage 4 and thought it was very similar to my stage 4 car.

If he knows how to drive an F1 F430, then the race would have a different outcome. He should have the 1/2 to 1 car length advantage. I have raced at least 1/2 dozen and they are fast. Outcome of my races, The 996 Turbo S is 1 car length ahead at 120MPH.

I would think you staying even with him would be doing good.
