Intercooler upgrade

Hi,

can anyone tell me if I buy the x50/GT2 intercoolers from Porsche are they a direct fit on my K16 car?

Do they mount in the same place and use the same fixings and hoses? or will I need additional kit?

Thanks

Lee

Thanks Mike, do you think its worth doing for K16's?

I do plan on moving to a hybrid Turbo in the future.

Thanks

Lee

If you plan on moving up, get an aftermarket IC setup.

They are not worth the labor to put them on unless you got them for free. (The GT2 I/C's)

EVOMS or BlownSix Intercoolers

GT2ICs are not worth the money....they are still only tube and fit design instead of bar and plate which flow 100% off the bat.

Lee,

I had thought about the GT2 IC's as well, they flowed maybe 15% better than stock, not much for the money IMHO. I ended up getting the EVOMS Super Sports, they bolted perfectly and match up to the Silicon hoses I upgraded to as well. I dont have exact numbers, but I remember reading that these are upwards of 80% more efficient but I'm going from memory so dont quote me. Bottom line, get some aftermarket ones as others have noted.

The GT2 are 5% more efficent. The ones we put in your car, with flow included is 200% more efficent than stock!

You can retain the ducting with the Blown 6. I think you can with the EVO, as well. I don't see how you could with the larger units, though...unless you did some cutting and fab work to the duct pieces...
