What should be installed first??

What am I supposed to have installed first, the coilovers or the 19's(wheels)?? I was told it would probably be better to do the coils first so they can settle in before the wheels go on. However thinking about it, I would have to get the car aligned twice no?? Once with the 18's, and then again when I change the hieght when the 19's go on. I am kinda wondering what to do, can I do them at the same time??
Thanks,
Evan

same time is ideal because you will already have the wheels off. If that is not possible it really does not matter what order you do it in. There is no reason to get the car aligned just from switching to different wheels. You will definitely want an alignment after the coilovers though.

Same time is possible which is why I asked. The reason I was saying I would need an alignment after the new wheels is because I am sure that I would prob raise or lower the coilovers quite a bit to get them the right hight for the 19's...

i'd do all 3 at the same time, if possible. If not, instal the suspension first, then the wheels, and finally alignment.

also, I recommend waiting about a week for the alignment that way some of the settling will get out of the way

Thanks guys, I will do it all at once....
What happens during that week while the car is not aligned?? Does it just pull to a side, and vibrate (as if wheels are not balanced) or what?? I didn't think it was ok (or safe) to drive with car not aligned??
Thanks,
Evan

nothing wrong with driving un-aligned for a short time....it may vibrate a bit, and pull to one side, but for short term its OK.

Dont do excessive mileage if you need an alignment! If you create a bad wear pattern on new rubber it can be imposible to align properly later, especially since you dont have the ability to rotate wheels due to staggered sizes and directional treads. If you take it easy you should be o.k. though.BTW,when i went from factory 18" to TA 19" wheels i got my TT realigned.Man,what a difference to straight tracking and ease of turning!I'd suggest it was money well spent.

Ok, I'll chip in.

If you're doing springs and/or shocks do them first, and
the installation should be done by a shop that will include
an alignment as an obvious part of it. I would never deal
with a shop that would simply take off fundamental
suspension componentry and bolt on different stuff and
let you drive off without knowing your alignment settings.
Different shocks and springs is what will affect your
alignment. New wheels and tires won't. You can swap out
wheels at any time. However, if you are switching wheel
specs (18 to 19, or different widths etc) then you should
do it all at once and get the shop to verify that there won't
be any interferance between the new wheels and the new
suspension parts or the fenders and fender liners etc.
