Steven, you are correct about everything (my motons were sold before they got on the car)
but remember we are talking a certain price point and then what is the best set up not what is the best set up money can buy.
after I learn to drive the RWD 600+hp car and need a second or two by next year will upgrade.
car being prepared for PCA club races then I will see how close to the pace I am .

Tom, in all seriousness, the bounce effect, which I've heard a lot of from JIC guys with higher spring rates may have contributed to your near spin at Sebring last time out. It does make perfect sense that adding heavy springs and not having all of the adjustments to manage them could make the ride very bouncy.

And EVERY tuner (and there have been quite a few) that I have talked to about JIC says their customer service is bad. So from that aspect Ben is right on point.

But JIC's are far from crap, there is nothing better for the price, and stock isnt even a real consideration for comparison. For an entry level C/O JIC's get the job done VERY VERY WELL. And since it's a feel thing, and we have no one with direct comparisons by data logging, who really knows?

Ben, I think you are going way overboard, you have made some good points, but JIC's are not crap. There are far too many guys here that are happy with them in some VERY fast cars for that comment to stand.

Ya know, it's sad... I started this thread trying to get some decent advice, then made clear I simply wasn't interested in JICs, which should have meant that we didn't need further discussion about the product or that topic.

Let's move on and try to keep this thread alive for "relevent" suspension discussions, mkay?

Ok.... I'm going to mention custom valving again! =) For the price, you can't beat ordering up dampers to taste! That plus camber plates, and you'll maintain the reliability of the Bilsteins that all the local tuners tell me about, gain front end grip and steering response, and gain the ability to control much heavier springs - if you need to lower the car more. (If you don't need to lower the car more, those ultra stiff springs will only cost grip.)

these motons are 3 way adjustable and have canisters that are pressure filled with nitogen-these are custom valved for porsches-for a street and weekend racer running street dot tires-i rec-500 lbs front springs and 700lbs rear with a tender spring, and the fine tuning is done with nitrogen and the shock adjustments...ive setup alot of porsches for street and race!! if you want send me a pm with your phone number and ill help answer your questions-might be easier for both of us...ray

Your comments have not fallen on deaf ears my friend... I'm working out other issues with the suspension first, then will work on the valving/spring rate issue. I'm not about to ditch the PSS9s for JICs. Personally I'm doing very well with them, and will tackle the valving/spring rates over the winter...

Setup Racer, If I had the money right now I'd be sending you contact info. Reality is right now I can't afford even a "steal" of a deal on Motons... My loss...

Mikelly, Sorry for keep changing the content of the thread. This will be the last time I promise.

Stevo, that's ok that you are not on JIC. But, stop saying that products are bad just because you don't know how to setup your car. I have had dealt with customer that just because they have so and so years of experience and they thought that they know everything. Trust me, you don't know everything yet, since you can't get the setup right on JIC, which you claim to be a bad product.

Tom, I never said that JIC is a bad product. I wouldn't recommend you to any brands since I am not working in the field anymore, so no preference. Just find a good shop who deals with a lot of track cars and follow their suggestion. Research on the good shop more, not only on the products. Also, you are investing on a Porsche, why would you care about the price.

Heavychevy, please re-read my post, I never brags about the products itself, I only brags on the support, customer service, and the boss. I do know that there are bunch of happy JIC guys. Otherwise how JIC can keep afloat and the boss can keep buying cars while the small army of employees keep getting crap and more overtime work without pay or be fired.

But hey, I know a lot of JIC, so if any of you have technical question and wants to get the real truth than getting a floating answer from JIC, hit me up.

Ok... since you offered.... =) I'd really like to know details about JICs damping. Are there any dyno graphs available for the front/rear struts, or maybe just full-soft/full-hard max values for the valving? I'm curious as to just how different they are (at least specification wise) from the stock PSS9 damping.

I figured as much. =) What issue(s) are you primarily trying to address at this time?

I need more camber... ASAP. I'm hoping to address both front and rear in the coming days.
