I've heard it's not that hard to do. I'm not sure, but someone told me to just run a butter knife along the edge. I would love to remove them and have them carbon fibered. Can anyone chime in and confirm this?

Step 1: Remove, upper, center cushion. Pull up and out. There are three tabs that hold it in place.

Step 2: Remove all three tabs from the bottom seat back to release the tension on the center seat back you just unfastened in step 1 and to release the side bolster leather tension.

Step 3: Start undoing the leather from the seatback. Make a note where each fastner is located that holdd the leather in place on the seatback.

Step 4: Leather bolster totally removed

Step 5: Unhook the leather from the inside clips that hold it to the frame

Step 6: Pull out the seat back tilt tabs

Step 7: Unscrew the screw, 4 total and 2 on each side, that hold the seat back to the frame

Step 8: Gently remove the seatback from the frame.

Step 9: Remove the leather stowl from the seatback

Step 10: Prep and Paint the seatback. Reinstall the seatback reversing the steps above....

Done!
