What does 6speeders think about the NSX in comparison with 911?
Having owned an NSX and several 996TT there is really no comparison. The NSX was a great car but simply doesn't even come close. The power just isn't there. There are always mods to take into consideration, but if your comparing stock cars, the 996TT is the correct choice.
I think modding the TT is much cheaper than the NSX if you want to get some more power. To get another 50+ hp out of the TT will cost you $1600 (ECU tune) out of the NSX ($10K).... only advanatge is the exhuast pricing, the TT exhaust market is kinda out of control....
The NSX is an absolutely beautiful car....a masterpiece. However, they are totally lacking in horsepower.
If I had a designated highway roll on car then I would love to also have an NSX. But if it is either or, no choice, the TT.

The NSX was a great car but even in its day I chose both a 993 and 993tt over it. The 993 actually cost less and offered a lot at that time and the 993tt was one of my favorite Porsches .
By the time 2002 came around the NSX (designed in the 80's) was somewhat dated and the 996tt was years ahead , HP ahead, and simply the better car .

As for maintenance, I think the NSX is much cheaper than TT right?
The TT is 0-60 in 4.3seconds? the NSX is 5.0secs, so its not THAT much faster is it?
I drive a 997 S before that I felt like that was fast enough for me.
If I want the power in the NSX, I guess I would put a TURBO/supercharge it. but how much would that cost?
In terms of resale value, both cars are outdated. I heard about the rumor in 2010 for the next NSX which suppose to be priced about $60k-70, but the one NSX im looking at is already priced at $60,000.
996 TT is not reliable, is it? if anything goes wrong, it would cost thousands of dollars...right?

Get an NSX. I think you'll be happier.

The new NSX....
seems it could be a worthy contender against a 996 TT

comes at a price though.....

The NSX is better than a 996 non-turbo, but not as good as a TT. NSX is a good car as long as its the 3.2 and not the 3.0(its a dog) but it still needs a SC or turbo. Handle great, low maintenance(like any Honda) dencent gas mileage, etc... Drive both cars, see which you like better.

I know the NSX is a well regarded car, but it doesn't do anything for me. There are many cars that match its performance but cost less than half. Slapping a blower on there probably isn't going to be trouble free as well.
One thing the NSX has going for it is that it is unique.
For me, this wouldn't even come close....I think the 996tt is substantially better. My buddy had that guy Shankenfelters old 03 996tt with larger turbos and that thing was plan ridiculous, and looked the part too.
LOL even at 4.3 which is easy to run in a TT you're already almost a second ahead and you havent even broken the speed limit yet. You're only in 2nd gear. And after that it would get REALLY ugly.
Problem with the NSX is that you are paying 60k for a garage queen. If you go and put 20k miles on it, you cant sell it for nearly that. The TT is at or near the bottom of it's depreciation range, so you can drive lots more and not be worried about adding miles.
