Very disapointing. And Leaf Springs on the rear?
I guess some things do not get better with age. I'll take a ZO6 thank you very much....

Z06 has leaf springs too. In fact all C5s do. Not sure about the C4 but that might also have leafs.

Too bad the interior is cheap plastic.

They really didn't think much of that car.

Shawn, I don't know you but I thought I'd let you know that you accidentally put a question mark at the end of the title of this thread. You may want to ask the moderators to remove it. It almost looks like you were asking a question.

I think it looks great, you also have to think it's only a 45K sports car

That little Ryan Seacrest looking guy really bugs me. He brings up all the shortcomings of the C6 that everybody already knows about, because the C5 had the same problems. The interior sucked, you could push the rear bumper in with your hand, leaf springs at the rear. They all know this about the C5, they reiterate it like it's some sort of magical news. The bottom line is, for the money it's a great performer. And just like every other car, it has its own shortcomings.

Well, what car can the brits produce in the same price range that is faster, better handling?? Even its cousin POS Jaguar XKR 90K waste couldn't keep up. There is no way an NSX can beat the Vette in a drag race. MT tested it at 4.3 / 12.7 seconds.

Considering trade deficit, I wouldn't mind having the Vette!!

What's wrong with a transverse leaf spring? They've had them since the early 80's. Unique but not bad.

I was pretty impressed that the guy had anything good to say about the C6 at all. That in itself is a huge statement from a British publication! They always hate/downgrade American cars. The Corvette may not have the best interior or technology, but it is hard to beat for 50k. I cannot wait for the Z06 version which promisses to be developed specifically for the Le Mans series and which will hand a lot of more prestigeous sports cars their you know what on the track.

I was in shock too that an NSX could even beat the 911. I think leaf springs are very dated. Plus this means no mods to the rear like coil - overs etc right? I guess all of these things make it easier for a county bumpkin to turn it into one of these. LOL

Its funny how old leaf sping technology is. Here is an example.

The vette is the best bargain in the world. Only the Elise might come close in sports cars. Is it cheap? yes. Is it fast? yes. Can you make a killer car by modding it? yes.

It lacks refinement and attracts a Harly type crowd, that's why I don't own one. I would consider the Z06 as a track car though as I like the new body look.
