Thumbs down Creaky Rattling Interior

Does anyone else have this problem?

What parts are the main culprits?

And has anyone managed to stop the creaking?

The few I found that could be fixed: tightened or waxed (window sill with ice wax...(seal outside...a la 993).

Materials have different coefficients of expansion with heat....so I have three anti=rattle weapon system built into my car. You probably do....

Radio.

Engine.

Windows (down).

What rattles.

Seriously, I got lucky in that my car has few if any, even with JIC's. I have been in some with a lot.

I have the natural brown interior which was an upgrade. I often wondered if that had more hands on install time or not....easier to scuff/see damage, so perhaps more time spent installing. I doubt that. In Audi's, felt tape was a godsend.....fyi.

A good stereo installer has a ton of tricks to deal with rattles....

adeeois is infamous around these parts
I have a very few creeks in colder weather, below 50 or so, around the sunroof. Have seen posts that BMW parts sells a "non-grease" silicone that is supposed to quiet those noises. I plan on checking it out this fall when temps start to drop.

We should start a new thread that people can list all noises made by their cars (not just the interior) and how they fixed them. I think a lot of them are common.

I have heard my share of creaks, clicks, clunks, rattles, etc. but most of it doesnt bother me because my exhaust is so loud.

I had a clunk. Turned out to be the instrument cluster. Tightened up the screws behind the hazard and other plastic piece.
