Virgin ECU?
Virgin ECU?
This may be a rookie question but thought I would throw it out there. I am considering an ECU flash and have spent a lot of time on the forums hearing what everyone has to say as well as talking to some tuners about thier product. Someone asked me if the ECU had been flashed before and I honestly don't know as I am the third owner.
My question: is there any way to really tell? I can regularly hit 0.9 or 1.0 boost in a hard 3rd gear pull. Is this normal for a stock set-up. Only change I have is a fabspeed gen 2 exhaust.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's at regular 02 996TT with K16s. I will hit that level as a spike (have to shift). The only mod it has is exhaust.
I have had the car for a year and I would guess if it did have a flash it would have a replacment ECU. Is there a way to tell by looking at the unit?

sometimes the aftermarket company will put a sticker on the ECU, but not usually. There is a way to check with PIWIS or PST2, but not for novices. You have some sort of flash.
You are definitely flashed. Give Kevin at UMW and see if he can give you any help.
FYI, I spike at 1.2 and hold 1 steady.
