BAV: Although I've never heard one because I changed out my platic diferters long before the diaphram in the OEM ones failed....I'm told they sound like a "honking noise"....so you could very well be hearing the result of a failed DV.

I've been told it sounds like geese honking coming from the engine bay.

Also I've read and been told to make sure you keep boost low once you hear the honking to keep from sending the diaphragm of the bad DV in to your turbo.

I have heard the "honking noise" comments before too. Allthough I am not hearing them. I can just hear the "boost" almost like its spilling out, but I am still getting one bar solid. I will replace them, and go from there.

Might I suggest first telling us what MY and mods you have, please. Then get the codes read JIC. There are many things it could be from DVs to leaks...

Still waiting for these to go. 33k miles/7 years and no failure. If they don't break...I don't replace.

Do you have an intake? My v-flow makes the diverters more audible. When I'm shifting I hear a psssst from the diverters, and I have upgraded diverters.

Max: I have a perfectly good new set of the plastic ones that I'd be willing to give you in case yours finally give out....

Adam: Are you parked near any bushes in a park when you hear the Psssst?

P1250 Boost Pressure Control Deviation - Above Limit
Possible fault cause
♦ Bypass flaps incorrectly adjusted
♦ Turbocharger faulty

My guess DVs.

P0491 Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 1 – Below Limit

Possible fault cause
♦ Secondary air injection pump is not triggered
♦ Secondary air injection pump does not work
♦ Air supply lines restricted
♦ Electric change-over valve does not function
♦ Air change-over valve does not function
♦ Vacuum system leaking

Check for leaks, most likely a leaking DV or hose connection
