Wow. I go away for a few days and miss all this fun. Guys, putting these kits on is not like building the space shuttle. Myself and many others, who are not mechanics, have installed our own in our garages solo. I feel bad for everyone but am of the opinion that if as much effort was put into actually finding and fixing the problem [like maybe redoing the EBC hookup completely], I'd venture to bet this thing would be over.

I know when I hooked up my Greddy, the instructions [not the ones from the EBC but the ones specifically for the 996tt that are floating around] were meant for someone who knew where the factory lines had originated, as you can only "see" an inch or two of them in the engine bay. It took about a half hour for me to find a schematics online, blow it up, and trace the lines. After that, it was pretty easy hooking them up correctly.

C'mon guys, it is not that hard. Take a deep breath, roll up your sleeves and tackle the problem!

That was really nice of you to offer a $100 to help Vivid fix the problem. I also would like to see the OP with a well running car but don't feel the need to give money towards some fund when both parties are fully capable of spending the nominal amount on their own. If Vivid was 100% confident in their mechanical abilities, they would fly up to fix the car on site over a weekend. No reason to spend $3k shipping it for less than a days work. I've done this with shops I've worked with in the past, it's really quite simple when the shop wants to help the customer in a convenient way. This is a pretty simple situation and bolt-on's don't get any more simple than this kit. This has been such a PR nightmare for Dan that you would think he would have already done this to show they are the world's best parts reseller and go out of their way to make happy customers.

To the contrary, I would like you to come over to Cleveland...pm me when you want to make the short drive. Or I'll be passing through PA on my way to MIR in a couple weeks.

Again, they have done nothing wrong. Not everyone has Switzer, Proto, Evoms, etc in there backyard. What if anything could those guys do differently if they sold there kit to someone, which they do everyday that Vivid hasn't done. Everyone here knows that that turbo setup produces more than 400rwhp, that's a joke. He either has a boost leak, ebc installed wrong, etc.

i was not offering 100 to help vivid ! i just offered to help in general so maybe this can end .and Ken can have a running car. im not defending vivid or ken for this matter . although i strongly beleive that the problem is something simple as the ebc wired up wrong or wastgates wired up for internals instead of externals.

To the contrary freind, ill be in Colombus OH, in march for the arnolds.so im sure i can make a pit stop but since you will be at MIR in a few weeks that works out rather nicely. Do let me know ... carry on.

 

Now I am probably the last person who should lecture people on the merits of internet challenge matches but Vic, if you keep posting it just hurts Dan by keeping this thread alive.

And Jamie, you do know that Vic in a national level bodybuilder who also trains martial arts. I think I heard that you train as well but Vic looks like a miniature Silverback Gorrilla. Since you posted that funny pic (sorry Dan, but it made me laugh) I don't want anything bad to happen to you, lol.

In any event, this thread has gotten way out of hand IMO and maybe it is time to be locked.
