Best way to remove OEM battery?

I have a 2004 996TT X50. My original OEM battery has a bad cell and I need to replace it. What is the best way to remove the battery. I have removed the side clamp but have noticed that the battery is still clipped in. It slides side to side but not up and down. What is the trick to unclip the lower part of the battery.

Also, do I need to worry about the radio codes?

Thanks

Hmmm. Mine just slid right out. No need to worry about codes. Don't replace it with another Porsche battery!

I think you just need to lift the back side up first. It is so dawn heavy, maybe that's why you think it is still clipped.

There is a device that plugs into the cigarette lighter with a 9V battery attached that will supposedly save what your computer has learned.

battery maintainer is a must if you're not driving it at least once a week. If not, you will need new battery every season.

It comes out. Just remove the clamp and push the battery towards the passenger side. There is a lip that holds the battery towards the drivers side.
