computer question

All my forum's functions work perferctly fine from my work's computer. However, since two nights ago, I 've not been able to perform any forum's functions from my home's computer(different than work's)---keep asking for sn and pw/not able to log in.

I tried resetting my IP address from the start/run, deleting all cookies and temporary files, logout/re-login AOL(as Shank suggested), unplugged my cable modem's power cord.....still....no positive results.

Any help/suggestions?

Re: computer question

I suspect this is an AOL browser issue. Have you tried browsing with Internet Explorer directly?

Sincerely,
Paul

Actually, I was using Explorer when this problem first occurred. I then tried AOL, then went back using Explorer....no luck.

Hmm, I'm sure you have cookies turned FULLY ON?
Rebooted your machine?

Have you installed any updates recently?
Sincerely,
Paul

prubin:

Yes, i recently ran Ad-Aware and Spybot.......

Weird thing is that my buddy used the very same computer to sign on and he was able to perform all forum's functions. When it comes to my turn, all my forum's rule on the bottom left saids "You may not" for reply, post new threads....etc.

This is weird, any thoughts?

I have XP on the subject computer. So i went into Internet Options/Privacy, clicked Advanced and found

1.) Override automatic cookie handling was "checked"

2.) First-party cookies and Third-party Cookies were "blocked"

So, i just now unclicked #1 and # 2 are "Accept". I would have to try it and see.

I guess I am still stucked at age of Windows 98'......

Are AdAware and/or Spybot running in the taskbar? They might be configured to BLOCK ALL cookies. That would explain the difficulty.

Let us know,
Sincerely,
Paul
