996GT2 PCCB - problem? Please help

Hello All!

My brakes seem to be making a new noise, they can sometimes be squeaky however they are now making a more squeaky, almost grinding noise at low speed braking and traffic braking.

The noise seems to resound in the cabin.

I have checked the pads but they seem to have loads of life.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Lee

Yip... sure I read that!

Honestly though... I really don't know about the Carbons... I wonder if it is just not getting heat into them.

The rotor surface looks good to me. Mine squeak a little. Look at the inside of the rotor to make sure there is not part of caliper rubbing on disc. I presume it only makes this noise when you apply the brakes? I hear/feel light buzz with moderate braking. Figured it was the holes in the rotor impacting pads. Probably nothing to worry.

Thanks.

Yes only under braking, I can feel it also.

Very strange.

2002, however I do not think that these are the original set of discs on the car.

Apparently the last owner had them replaced.

Thanks

Your rotors & brake pads look perfect. My car does the same every once in a while.Just wash the build up of brake dust out every so often.

Thanks Paulie, Im going to get the fluid changed too.

My concern was that I did not want to drive it if the pads were too worn.

I have heard if you change them at about 60% wear you will not have any rotor problems.I'm not sure if this is true but thats what I have heard.
