Since it is colder, is my boost safe?
Since it is colder, is my boost safe?
I have a Evoms GT610 kit on the car and I normally see boost of 1.2 bar with an occasional 1.3 bar spike on 93 octane (car was tuned at evoms for AZ 91 octane fuel) in summertime weather. I took the car out last weekend in 50* weather and i saw spikes up to 1.4 bar and it settled at 1.3 constant. I have a feeling that if I have the car out in any cooler weather, i may start seeing higher spikes and higher sustained. Is this something I should be worried about? Why aren't the wastegates opening more to bleed off the additional boost? It seems that the car should be at 1.2 bar regardless of weather conditions? I feel I have a little bit of a safety net since the car was originally tuned for 91 octane and we have 93 octane available here. Any suggestion or input?
Thanks in advance
