Just installed a Stage IV EVOMS Clutch for 996TT, need help

Just installed my brand new stage IV EVOMS (Sachs III motorsports technology). I was used to my old set up and released on the bottom. The new system is releasing way on top. is this normal? It is almost like driving stick all over again. Very sensitive. Any thoughts?

Yup, that's the way it feels and I know it's horrible, but is easily fixed with a GT2 slave conversion kit that they sell. The clutch itself is very strong and durable, its the pedal feel associated with such a clutch that sucks. They developed the conversion kit on my car because i had that clutch and hated it.With the conversion the pedal becomes moderately heavier but the feel is better than stock. You should give Todd @Evo a call and ask his advice.Joe

I have the Spec Stage III + clutch with a lighten flywheel and it also release very high at the top. Will the GT2 clutch slave cylinder fix that problem also.

You would like to think that they would have told him that when he
bought the clutch.

now this is interesting. Someone was telling me that they have a similar problem, in fact his wife can't drive the car because she stalls it. The pedal does not engage until very high in the release. Is this his problem as well? sounds like it might be.

I believe that was me . I have called evoms in the past about this slave cylinder upgrade and they were very honest with me about the kit. I was told it will NOT fix the issue on where the clutch engages the issue is how the clutch was built. Not saying its a problem with the clutch either, it just functions as designed is all.

Feel free to correct if i'm wrong but the slave kit upgrade only changes the engagement feel of the clutch pedal.

YOu can change the position of the release by changing the lentht of the slave rod... usually you shorten it when the realease is too low... but thats not for everyone... but can be done... I did...

you take the slave out from the tranny.. thats easy for someone that is a tech.... and pull the pin out... 2 seconds... I know when you install a ATS clutch you cut the pin 7/16ths...
