How to check the limited slip differential (LSD)?

How do you check if a LSD on a 996 RWD is working properly? Wanted to know if my limited slip differential is ok. When both rear wheels are off the ground with transmission in neutral, wheels will turn the same way but if I turn one wheel really fast the other might not turn at the same speed. If transmission is in gear then wheels will turn the opposite direction. If I jack up one rear wheel with transmission in neutral, I can turn that one wheel easily but if it is in gear then I can't really turn it at all. Thanks for any info.

If a GT2 than I'd imagine a nice peelout on a level surface should tell you if it is working by looking at the burnout marks. If a 996tt than I don't think you have one from the factory if i'm not mistaken.

Is there another way to check LSD other than a peelout? What if the driver side peel out mark is 6" longer than the passenger?

Make sure the surface is even and that the tires have even pressure. Your LSD might need a rebuild.

Yeah, we should meet. Aren't you going to Irwindale 1/8 track coming Thursday?

didn't check tire pressure, I will try to find a prefectly straight surface. It's limited slip and not no slip diffs so can burn out be perfectly even?
