What's up bro? I think I've seen you on m3forum right? (AW m3?) Anyway, there's lot of threads about this but the short answer is the dealership's PPI is a standard two hour procedure. They plug up the car to the computer to get any codes and read any errors and they look also perform an exterior check (tires, brake pads, any visible paint work, etc).

I personally believe that to get an honest, objective opinion on the status of the car, you should either take it to a indy or a dealer that has neither sold or serviced the car.

Correct, a Porsche PPI is a checklist at the dealer that they follow. If the car is more modded, perhaps getting compression/leak-down done also.

I also agree. I've asked the dealers that I've had ppi's done before and they said "you don't need a compression test b/c if there was a leak, the computer would throw a code". Not sure if that's true but sounds reasonable?
