The difference in seating...
When I bought my 996TT, going on two years ago, It came with the GT3RS seats and that was that... My first experience with a Porsche, and it came with those seats, so I didn't know how the other seats would feel, fit, or where they would put you in the car.
Couple weeks ago I bought Adam Bowles power/heated memory seats and on Thursday they arrived at the depot. I was able to head out of the office early and make the drive from Herndon Va. to Mechanicsville, Va. in just under 2 hours, which must be a record (Some of the worst traffic to navigate in the country between those two points).
Today I installed the seats, and upon installing them I noticed the silver stich in the seats. Very cool!
Since my interior trim is silver over the black leather, they are a perfect match... What I also noticed is these seats really put you UP in the air. Even with them sitting in the lowest position, you're a good inch or so higher than in the GT3RS seats. That was a differrent perspective altogether I'll have to get used to...
I have an issue with the passenger seat not heating up, but I have to take the passenger seat out when I take the car to get the windows tinted anyway, and I'll troubleshoot that then...
Very happy with the civil transformation of my moster at this point... New seats, more timid alignment, iPod kit installed, and within the next few days I'll have dark windows to peer out of! Last thing on the list will be getting the new bumper cover painted and installing it...

Sounds good, Mike. I'm happy you like them.
On the passenger seat issue...when I installed my sport seats (from an '02), the motorized recline on the drivers seat wouldn't work. After some troubleshooting, I realized the positive pins on the plug didn't match up (possibly because of different year cars with different options). I didn't want to screw up the plugs, so I just bypassed the plug with extra wire. It solved the problem, so maybe this will help you also. I only had the issue with the drivers seat...the passenger seat mated up perfectly.
It's been a while since I had those seats in, but I'm 99% sure the heat worked on the passenger seat. If you can't get it working, let me know.

Adam, I'm going to troubleshoot the switch on the batwing first. I've had that out a couple times and it's possible there's something wrong there... Everything else connected up perfectly and the seats both recline, raise, lower, and slide forward and backward just fine... They also look great!
Thanks for the tip though, as I'll start testing out pins if this doesn't work!

If things were different right now, I'd be going the other direction, but I've got a full track car that I should use for its purpose, for now anyway...
Looking forward to having a nice daily driver that isn't a 4X4 truck (my other daily driver)!

I got a great deal on an OEM primered bumper cover with the OEM lower lip off an S4 for $325 shipped, so I bought it and will drop it off this week to be painted, possibly along with my hood... I'll then have some clear bra re-done!Mike
I'm going to sell them, but they are not pristine by any stretch. I'm selling the seats, and the mounts, but keeping the sliders, the antisub brace (BreyKraus) and the fire extenguisher mount.
I haven't set a price yet, but these come with both grey and black center cushions, so they'll work with black or grey or a mix of both interiors... but they really aren't in "great" shape and could use reupholstering to be "immaculate... The price will reflect the condition, though...

Well based on Suncoast's "SALE" for a pair at $2595, I guess I'm going to have to be "reasonable"... I need to get some pics up, probably not before tomorrow night, but anyone interested in these should PM me for more details.
I'd prefer a local pickup, but will ship for cost of shipping.

Yup. About half an inch would be my butt-guestimate.
I drove the car in heavy (HORRIBLE) traffic today and the seats, in 13 degree temps this morning, were a welcome addition. However, while trying to deal with getting around the horrid traffic this afternoon, I hit some really fun backroads, and boy did I miss those GT3 seats... I was sliding around a little and bracing myslef with my right knee against the center console.

I hate to say "I told you so", but, I told you so. They're OK for cruising but imagine me last season at Summit Point in those.
I just hope they serve your purpose. Merry Christmas Mike.
