Oh, damn. Still- try to find an indy who is near there- maybe ask for recommendations in the regional forum.

1) How much did you pay for your used 996TT? $57k
2) When did you buy it? June 2009
3) Year and mileage? 2004 with 28k
4) What was the original price, and how much did you bargain down? $57,200 took it down a whole $200.
5) Did it come with the warranty, or did you buy one, or neither? I bought a 4 year/48k bumper to bumper warranty for $3500 with a $100 deductible. In the first year I had it, I had $10,000 in repairs (blown head unit, o-ring on oil cooler leaking requiring engine removal to replace, blown alternator).

Original sticker price for the car was $150k, including the X50 package and tons of interior appearance options.

This is a GREAT thread just read the entire thing took awhile though! Is it just me or does it seem like the market is rebounding a little bit...there seem to be fewer number of the 996TT in the $30k - $40k range with also not as many in the lower $40K's and most of the ones seem to be in the upper $40Ks to lower $50Ks ... the ones in the $30Ks seem to be higher mileage (over say 60K miles) and some of these cars are not pristine or seem to have heavy mods and hard usage...I could be wrong just seems that way from reading through many ads...

In fact even on 6spd here in the cars for sale forum mpst of the 996tt I've seen have been mid to low $50Ks or high $40Ks ....

curious to know some of you guys thoughts on this...

The market seems to be normalizing the price. The newer, low mileage cars have gone down a bit in value and the older higher mileage cars have gone up. The range on 996T is probably 35K to 70K? The lowest cost ones are 25% of new value and the nicest ones about 50%

There are still lots of very nice 996T out there, but I see more and more cars that most of us wouldn't want. Total Repaints, bad body kits, flat paint, many done in poor taste.

Hey everyone, I'm new here, as I am a new 996tt owner. I love the car so far.

1) How much did you pay for your used 996TT? $58k
2) When did you buy it? October 2010
3) Year and mileage? 2005 Turbo S with 39k miles
4) What was the original price, and how much did you bargain down? Originally listed at $62k.
5) Did it come with the warranty, or did you buy one, or neither? Had one year Porsche CPO warranty on it at the time I bought it.

The car has GIAC ECU, AWE Tuning Exhaust and adjusted wastegates. It needed new tires when I bought it as well. It is a wonderful automobile and I am greatly enjoying it.

I agree...I think things like one owner car, all documentation, and no accidents or paintwork really are important. There is a premium to be had in many cases...I would say the effective range of desirable quality vehicles, considering options and upgrades to be in thr neighborhood of 35% - 45% of the original window MSRP which is within the range Ari mentions...
