What do you guys think, is this a good deal? kbb.com is telling me that it should be worth $57k for PPV, but it's being sold by a dealer.
Well guys I didn't buy the above mentioned one that was located in Waukesha, WI; but I bought a local one & here are the details:

2) When did you buy it? Dec 2010
3) Year and mileage? 02 X50|42K
4) What was the original price, and how much did you bargain down? $42.5K
5) Did it come with the warranty, or did you buy one, or neither? Nope.

Seems like you got a good deal. I don't understand the price premium of the Turbo S cars over a normal X50. Shouldn't a 2004 X50 and a 2005 Turbo S with similar miles be a similar price? I guess the badge is that important. Are there any differences in these cars at all besides the badge on the back and maybe a fancier tachometer?

I was really happy with the deal I got, especially since my car has a CPO warranty on it. To answer your question, the other main difference between a Turbo S and an X50 car is the carbon ceramic brakes. Then there are some interior features that I think were standard with the S, like leather dashboard, PCM2 Nav system and CD changer. But in terms of mechanics and performance, my understanding is that it is an X50 car with PCCB.

5) Did it come with the warranty, or did you buy one, or neither? Had one year Porsche CPO warranty on it at the time I bought it.

The car has GIAC ECU, AWE Tuning Exhaust and adjusted wastegates. It needed new tires when I bought it as well. It is a wonderful automobile and I am greatly enjoying it.
That looks like a nice deal. There's a car in TX, right now. Turbo S cab with tip. A few more miles but in the same price range. Am so tempted to pull the trigger.

I don't know anything about that particular car, but I think my Turbo S is the best car I have ever had. Z06 Corvette, 2 Vipers, E46 M3 ... I loved them all but I like the 911 the best. So if this particular car is what you're looking for, I doubt you'll regret the decision to buy it.

Of course, when you post on a car forum "there is a car I am tempted to buy" you can probably expect a bunch of people to jump in and urge you to do it!

QFT

As it is, I only put about 2k / year on the M3, which I would like to retain. It is just hard to justify another toy that would end up splitting those miles with the M3.

Actually, that's not entirely correct. I could probably convince "she who must be obeyed" that a 20k toy isn't extravagant. 3x that would be a more difficult sales job.

Not enough £ and its still up for sale over here in the UK. Oh well after a week I will pull the advert. Just thought I would test the water, if it goes ok if not even better. Talk about a loaded dice, trying to sell a car over Christmas, you might think my heart wasn't in the whole process.
Might just have to upgrade with some more mods then
Frank

Merry Christmas to all on 6speed and a Happy New Year.
