Alex,

Not sure if it makes a difference but have you tried to flip the bulb aroudn and reinstall? I had to do that on my LED license plate lights to get it to work. I'm no electrical engineer but I'm an optimistic person

Only about two possibilities...fuse or the micro switch located in the latch...does the car give a little beep when you lock it?

Micro switch is in the latch assembly. I flipped my bulb as well & the fuse is good.

check the switch (with a test light), if you have power at the switch it likely IS the switch (if the lamp is good). If NO power at the switch it is the fuse or the wiring after the fuse. Good Luck.

Alex...you don't want it to beep....so don't think that no beep means something is wrong. Quite the contrary, if it beeps, it means something is still open or didnt set properly. I asked the question only to eliminate a faulty latch that might not be closing. I'd say it's going to be the micro switch which is at the bottom of the latch. You can see a couple wires coming out of the bottom of the latch mechanism...follow them to the micro switch located inside the latch.

+1 sounds like a micro switch in the front latch assembly. The vehicle will beep when there is something open after you lock it, doors, lids, and even the center compartment inside the car. If you open the front deck lid and lock the car and there is no beep that means the micro switch is not sending that information to the alarm module. So you will not get a beep or a light on in the trunk.

As I recall, that mickey-mouse little switch is something like $65...try Sunset Porsche parts for a good price. I had one go bad in my 99 C2...and I have an extra, but it's in the manual cable release latch...but if the micro switch is the same, I could sell it to you for a decent price. I can't imagine Porsche re-tooling a micro switch. It should be a universal part.

Also...if I recall correctly, the micro switch and the alarm are on separate circuits...so the light can be out, but the alarm still set properly. I'm not sure that if the light doesn't work, that the car will beep unless the latch isn't secured all the way down.

If I open the trunk the light doesn't go on, and if I let the trunk opened and close the car there is no beep, but if o open the hood the light goes on in the t5runk too. If the trunk is opened the check light doesn't appear on board.
So, this means there is a problem with the switch, or what?
