I have a set of K16/k24 hybrids that I am selling and a buyer is asking me if it's possible to push 600 crank with these turbos considering proper fuel and ecu upgrade (he means 5bar and custom tune + intake, intercooler, exhaust, dv etc..).

Also, do you think k16/k24 is a step over k16/16g in term of output power ?

No they are not...16/16g are slightly better...i had a k16/24 setup and managed to get 531hp...(with exhaust+upgraded wastegates+BMC filter)

 

We have tuned a few k16/24... In general they make slightly less power and produce more heat then the 16g's.

They are very capable and are proven (125+ mph traps posted), but there are now better options.

 

better options? like what? please fill us in...

 

Where does everyone send their stock K16s to turn them into 16Gs... and what is the approximate cost in doing so?

Are these all crank HP numbers? Are you guys just dynoing them then calculating the crank HP or what? Why not list the whp?

Yeah that's pretty close, I think the k16/16g's make around 500awhp. I'd probably go with the k16/16g instead of the k16/k24 setup IMO.

 

there are several threads right now discussing about 500 wheel hp out of hybrids with stock fueling, so I think you can safely say that 600 crank is an attainable number. 5bar, DV's and 93 octane with a good tune should put you close to that. There has been many cars dyno's on this forum showing anywhere from 500 to 530 whp.

 

how are these K16/24 & K16/16g compare with the k24/18g setup???
