How hard is it
I did a search on Rennlist...I should tell you that many threads warned against this as a DIY project if you were not experienced...and this is for a Boxster so the same? But here it is:

This might be helpful for removal of the cluster:

I've done it a few times - on different P-Cars. It's not hard, but you need to take your time.
As a tip, I would suggest that you take good clear digital pictures of where your needles are relative to your gauges "with the ignition in the ON position."
Once you have the new faces in place, plug your cluster back into the connectors and turn your ignition back on to place your needles in the appropriate location.
Then turn the ignition back off, pull the cluster and reassemble the rest of the parts.
This way, you'll be certain to have the needles indicate the proper values in the guages.
PM me if you need more help.
